UNLOCKING THE HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN

It is such a special moment when the judge declares that this child is ours to love forever. We have prayed for this moment for so long. This child has wanted and needed a family to love and to return love.
Why then is it so difficult to love each other, to feel the love, to feel like a family? Am I not trying hard enough? Doesn’t the child want to be loved? I just don’t understand?

That is the Key!!

UNDERSTANDING

When we begin to understand what the child has gone through, how they feel about themselves, and how we feel about ourselves–we begin to unlock the hearts of the children.

To turn the key in the lock, we must begin the attachment and bonding process. We can then replace fear with trust. Anger will turn to love. We become a family, united through understanding.
